Family Support Services

The Family Support Service provides support and /or counselling to individuals and families on issues relating to parenting, finance, child protection, domestic violence, or other relevant issues that affect the family's general well being or quality of life. This service is available to families of children aged 0-18 yrs.

Who can access this service:

  • Young people aged 0-24 years and their families/carers.
  • Mon-Wed 9:00am to 3:30pm


    Parenting Courses

    KEEPING KIDS IN MIND (KKIM)

    KKIM is a 5 week course for separated parents who are experiencing ongoing conflict. Parents love their children and want the best for them. However, after separation parenting often gets much tougher. This course covers a variety of topics and is facilitated by experienced Parent Educators.

    1-2-3 MAGIC PARENTING

    AN END TO ARGUING!
    Resolve conflicts positively and quietly. Develop your child’s tolerance for frustration, set clear expectations for your child and learn simple strategies to keep you sane!

    PLAY POWER PROGRAMS

    Talk over the benefits of play, learn how infants grow and develop, use everyday moments to connect to your child and brainstorm ideas for safe, fun playtime.



    The Parent Education and Support Network (PSEN)

    The Parent Education and Support Network offers practical and emotional support in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment. PESN assists families with children from 0-8years experiencing behaviourial issues and learning difficulties as well as those families who have children with special needs and/or disabilities. PESN also provides advocacy, educational services and a Carer's Support Group.

    Who can access this service:

  • Families/Carers of children aged 0-8yrs.
  • Tues-Fri 8:30am to 4:30pm


    Family Chain

    The Family Chain offers support services to families with children aged 0-8years experiencing difficulties in ways that affect families well-being e.g. finance, parenting, conflict or trouble coping with life issues. Family chain also offers advocacy and referral services and can connect families with a range of community services.

    Who can access this service:

  • Children aged 0-24years and their families carers.
  • Tues-Fri 9:00am to 4.30pm


    Young Carer´s Group

    Who We Are

    Young Carer Groups are a great way to connect and make friends while sharing stories, concerns, hopes, supports and fun!
  • This group is designed by young people for young people.
  • Participants are aged between 6-13yrs and are caring for someone with a chronic illness, disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol problem or similar.
  • The group meets once per month to share events, swap stories, participate in interesting activities and enjoy each others company.

    FACETS is a relaxed support group for parents & carers with children that have:
  • Disabilities
  • Special Needs
  • Behavioural issues
  • Learning Difficulties
  • A support group that aims to introduce families in similar circumstances.
  • Somewhere to come and have a chat over a cuppa with others who can relate to you.
  • A place to share individual knowledge & experiences.
  • A source of information and resources on special needs topics.
  • A voice for parents & carers of children in our community.
  • Provides a monthly newsletter



  • Josephite Foundation

    No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)

    NILS provides interest free loans to low income earners of up to $1000 to assist with the purchase of household goods and some services.
